Lucknow: The inaugural CueX Academy of Cue Sports Tournament concluded on a high note as Akshay Kumar emerged as the Snooker Champion, defeating Ashar Abrar 4–0 in the best-of-seven final.
Despite the final scoreline, the contest was closely fought in the opening stages, with Ashar Abrar showing early dominance through confident potting and tactical play. Akshay Kumar, however, relied on his vast experience and composure to turn the match in his favor. After taking the opening frame, he gathered momentum and went on to win four consecutive frames to lift the title in style.
With this victory, Akshay Kumar completed a remarkable double, having earlier won the Billiards Championship as well. His exceptional performance throughout the tournament made him the undisputed star of the event by capturing both major titles.
Runner-up Ashar Abrar, one of Lucknow’s finest cueists, delivered an impressive campaign and earned praise for his consistency and fighting spirit throughout the tournament.
The tournament, organized by CueX Academy of Cue Sports, witnessed a record participation of 86 entries, making it one of the biggest cue sports events held in Lucknow. The championship highlighted the growing popularity and competitive standard of billiards and snooker in the city.
The prize distribution ceremony was conducted by Ajay Pandeya, President of the Billiards & Snooker Association of Lucknow (BSAL), who felicitated all the winners and congratulated the participants for making the tournament a grand success. Players, officials, referees, and cue sports enthusiasts appreciated the professional organization and sportsmanship displayed throughout the event.
